About Me

Unfortunately most people go through their adult life without ever consciously knowing what is within them. Their unconscious takes control sporadically and uncontrollably through addiction, hostility, and self-criticism. Many, and sometimes myself included, feel they are helpless to hold on to this magnificent force, which slips through our fingers with the sands of time. Some provide the notion that external entities like gods or cosmic energy hold the key to unlocking a person’s true expression of herself. It’s my opinion that these approaches simply further our degree of helplessness. With this blog I aim to help anyone who is willing to embark on the journey of psychological and emotional health forge a new friendship with their authentic self.*

I can guarantee you that you had complete access to this power at a very early stage in your life. All children are born with a wondrous gift to express themselves and experiment with the world around them, uninhibited by conventions or obligations. When this ability is scorned or mocked by our parents, teachers, siblings, and society, do we dissociate from our actual experience, appease authority, and lose a very integral part of ourselves. We lose a part of us that is creative, curious, joyful, and rich with enthusiasm – the part that belonged to us when we were carefree children.

Unraise is about creating a bond with your inner child that is nearly invincible. Creativity is not something you extract from your unconscious self like sap from a tree, but rather a mutual benefit that comes from win-win negotiation.

I sincerely hope you will take a look around and engage in a conversation.

With love and passion,

M

  1. Hey Matthew, great blog!

Sadly, the subscription link does not work, gives me a page not found.

And in case the underlined words “my first post” and “subscriber list” on your “about” page are meant to be links, they don’t work as well.

    Good stuff, would read again!

This is exactly what I think. I like your thinking and attitude. All power to you.
